Easy Easter 2014

So it’s Easter THIS WEEKEND! You’ve been very busy at work and haven’t had time to get that surprise gift for your significant other. You’ve also got family coming over and require food and basic essentials for their comfort. Your deadline only gets tighter and the pressure is on. We’ll give you a minute to let the panic set in, shall we?

The good news is that you’re not entirely without options. You could take time off your very tight schedule to order a gift online and hope that it arrives on time. You could also risk the boss’ wrath and pull a sickie, then wait at home just to let the folks in. How about spending your break time on the tube, travelling around and struggling to make sense of your chaotic shopping rendezvous?

Okay, maybe you could very simply hand us your to-do list. Errand managers are on hand to do your shopping; purchase, wrap and deliver your gifts; wait at home to let visitors in and make you look like a real hero! It’s all about how much you value your time. Delegating errands takes only a couple of minutes.

Visit www.errandsplus.co.uk or call to speak to a London based Errand Manager right away on 020 7754 0324.

The Height of Romance

Here at Errands Plus, we help a whole host of clients with a variety of tasks. And it’s not all shopping lists and shoe repairs.

Last Friday, we contributed to a real life love story.

Our client wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Chloe, at The Shard in London. With uninterrupted 360 degree views over 40 miles of the nation’s capital, we can see why this building is quickly becoming as romantic an attraction as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Empire State Building in New York.

Our runner, Ken, stood in the middle of another iconic spot, The London Bridge, holding a sign that said ‘Will you marry me, Chloe?’ surprising our client’s unsuspecting girlfriend – but also drawing the attention of a number of passers-by. Many thought that Ken was the one proposing and some took pictures with him holding up the board! The small group even waited to see what Chloe would say.

Proposals of marriage are important things, the start of a life shared. So, it’s only right that you should want things to go as smoothly as possible and our team can help make your romantic moment a perfect one. Simply call 020 7754 0324 and ask to speak with an errand manager.

Oh, and by the way, Chloe said yes!

Time Well Spent: Office* 2013

Laura Schwartz is a wise woman. She says ‘it’s outside the office that you discover the ideas and the contacts that have the most impact inside it’. How right she is.

Errands Plus have had an amazing couple of days at Office* 2013, the UK’s biggest event for office professionals, meeting PAs, Office Managers, Directors, Business Owners and Executive Support Executives from diverse walks of life.

Spending time with these dedicated professionals, we talked about the thing most important to all of us – Time: How we spend it, why there's never enough of it, how we would want more of it and ways through which we can maximise it. We were inspired by those conversations and our amazing new contacts. We listened, we learned and we got a better understanding of what our prospective clients would want.
In all, it was a truly rewarding experience and our team never pulled together more than at this event. Special mention must go to Helen for keeping us all sane and being the 'rock' throughout the project; to Ken for working so many late hours with a smile; to Daria for inspiring the team with her quiet confidence & manning the stand so effectively, to James for our stunning artwork, and to other members of our team too numerous to mention but who contributed to the success of our show in no small measure, Thank you!

The Record-Breaking Tube Challenge

The London tube ride is rarely something commuters look forward to.

Delays, overcrowding and that inevitable signal failure. No, travelling on the Underground isn’t something you will often hear spoken of with fondness. But it does seem to bring out the competitiveness in some of us.

Guinness World Record holders, Geoff Marshall and Anthony Smith, travelled to all the London Underground stations within 16 hours, 20 minutes and 27 seconds! Certainly puts the early morning commute time into perspective.

On average, we have a dozen errand runners using the London underground daily, facilitating requests and helping busy Londoners save time. For us, it’s not a competition and we have no world records to break. We simply run errands intelligently because we love to help. Those shoes you didn’t have time to re-heel, those spare keys you didn’t have time to cut, Jack’s present you couldn’t get off the meeting to collect; we’ll go in your stead and your day needn’t feel a hiccup.

Start saving time today. Delegate errands at www.errandsplus.co.uk or give us a call on 02077540324 to discuss your needs.

Office* Show, 2013. Let's go...

It’s now 5 years since we started running errands in London, and some of our loyal customers have been Personal Assistants, Office Managers and Executive Support Staff within the capital’s busiest establishments. So, when we heard about the Office Show (an event for office professionals) it was a fairly easy decision for us to exhibit this year.
The organisers of the show which takes place on the 8th & 9th of October at National Hall, Olympia, London are keen for everyone to come along and participate.

With over 4,000 senior office professionals expected this year, this seems to us like the perfect setting for networking and previewing innovative products and services.

We will be at stand 6034. Here are a few reasons why you should stop by and say hello:

·         Every visitor to our stand gets the chance to win FREE errand hours.
·         PAs, EAs, HR and Office Managers can instantly collect FREE hours of errand time for                           personal or office use.
·         We will be giving away useful gift items and literature
·         We will probably have the yummiest cakes at the event, no kidding.

We would like to take as many of you as possible along to the party.

Follow https://twitter.com/errandslondon  & tweet us a request for your FREE full colour pre-event brochure and complimentary pass.

You can also attend as a special VIP guest courtesy of Errands Plus Ltd. To be considered, simply email info@errandsplus.co.uk

Taking the leap on February the 29th

February the 29th – the day that makes 2012 a leap year!
Without getting too technical about why we have leap years, it’s primarily because it takes our earth 365 days and a quarter to orbit the sun. Some clever man somewhere back in the Roman times decided to put all those quarters together and so every four years we end up with an extra day bundled onto the end of February.
But science aside, the leap year is most famous for one particular thing: 29th February is the one day when women across the globe are allowed to get down on one knee and ask their future fiancés for their hand in marriage.
The tradition supposedly started when St Brigid of Kildare a fifth-century Irish nun, asked St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland to grant permission for women to propose marriage, after hearing complaints from single women that their suitors were too shy to propose. Fast forward to present day and you’ll find this tradition is alive and well. Loose Women presenter Lisa Maxwell yesterday announced that she proposed to her boyfriend Paul Jessup. See www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tv-film-news/loose-women-stars-leap-year-748147
So to ladies out there taking the leap, and those already planning for the big day, Errands Plus can help ensure you have a hitch free day. We run errands for weddings and engagement parties: addressing and posting invitation cards, purchasing decorations, picking up and dropping off dresses and hats, buying gifts and souvenirs, staying on standby for any incidental errands, etc all from £9.99 only. Last year, we delivered a forgotten wedding ring just in time for the ceremony, and managed to save the day!
We would love to help you too. Visit www.errandsplus.co.uk or call our friendly team on 02074768141

Could you benefit from Freelancing?

The year 2011 has played host to some of the biggest events in UK history. 2011 will forever be remembered as the year of the Royal Wedding, the last ever Harry Potter film, and the year that Mr Darcy finally won an Oscar. But some events, although not quite so well known, are still important for our country and deserve a bit of recognition. We bring you, The National Freelancers Day!

Last year in November, The National Freelancers Day was celebrated for the third consecutive year. Set up by PCG, the freelancers’ trade association, the day is aimed at gaining wider recognition for the contribution that freelancers make to the UK economy. This day is particularly important in the light of recent studies that have shown a 12% increase in the amount of people choosing to work freelance.

Freelancing covers most sectors and suits a wide range of workers, from those self-employed to those who work with contracts of varying lengths. There is no typical freelancer but all are needed and indispensible to UK businesses. Freelancing is very important to the economy because sometimes businesses need resources that are more flexible than those that can be acquired under regular ‘terms of employment’.

Here at Errands Plus our freelancers are vital in the working of our business. They come from all backgrounds and age groups and share a common trait – the passion to help fulfill tasks! Ever smiling, they are hard workers who will brave unfavorable weather to provide excellent service. There is usually a runner available at short notice or willing to put in extra hours to help fulfill our promise to clients. We are proud of this lot and count it a privilege to be working with such a dedicated team.

The 2011 Freelancers Day was a huge success, with the Prime Minister David Cameron endorsing the day. For more information about freelancing and engaging freelancers, visit http://www.nationalfreelancersday.org.uk/.
